A few years ago we received a dwarf olive tree. The tree remained in its pot for a very long time.
At some point the leaves started to fall and it looked like the tree was suffering...
We moved it into the ground. It took the tree a year to grow leaves and blossom again.
Every time I see the tree I get an idea of what process is. Processes take time. Just like nature has its time, we also need to be patient for processes we go through.
I thought to myself that relocation is a process in which we try to find ourselves in the new place. We need to put down roots and flourish. This process takes time, a lot of effort and requires changes and concessions.
When I started the business and we were looking for a name, my partner asked me "What do you actually want to do?". This question and the walk in nature made me think that I wanted to help migrants feel integrated in their new place. Exactly like a plant that adapts to a new place, to find ways to integrate into the new environment.
Just like the sunflower that turns towards the sun.
I called the business Tropisma.
